After reportedly rapping a seven-year-old girl at a community center, two teenagers from How Mine Secondary School were arrested.
The teenagers allegedly offered her sweets in exchange for her silence.
According to B-Metro, the two perpetrators are 14 and 15 years old, according to a family member who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
According to the charges, the 15-year-old teenager arranged the rape by offering the Grade Two student sweets and then inviting the minor to a community hall to play.
When they arrived, he began playing with the unwitting child, and after a few minutes, they were followed by his 14-year-old friend, according to the source.
According to the paper, one of the rapist suspects stripped naked the juvenile and the duo then took turns raping her, according to a source close to the investigation.
According to the source, after the act, the 15-year-old gave the minor more sweets to buy her silence.
The minor bled and walked with difficulty after the heinous act, according to the source. When her mother saw her wandering about in such a state, she became suspicious and inquired as to what had happened to her.
She told her mother about what had happened. She was taken to How Mine Clinic and referred to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH), where she was investigated and it was determined that she had been raped.
The rape incident was reported by the minor’s mother to the How Mine police station, which led to the arrest of the two suspects.
Inspector Abednico Ncube, a Bulawayo police spokesperson, confirmed the incident.
