His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangawa this week fired outspoken ZanuPf Commisar Voctopr Matemadanda.
Matemadanda was also stripped of his security ministerial duties, which he had been deputising Oppah Muchinguri.
Matemadanda isn’t any longer the Zanu PF’s political commissar or deputy minister of state, according to presidential spokesperson George Charamba.
“Matemadanda was not sacked, but he was reassigned to a higher position outside of the country,” Charamba said.
“A number of our embassies are without members, necessitating the filling of those vacancies. However, the assignment of the individuals is at the discretion of His Excellency (Mnangagwa). There will be a lot of reassignments taking place.”
Mnangagwa is said to have informed Matemadanda of the latest developments at a Zanu PF Politburo meeting on Thursday.
He is accused of creating havoc in the commissariat division, as well as presiding over the tumultuous Zanu PF district coordinating committee (DCC) polls in December.
Allegations of election fraud and buying, as well as violence, plagued the polls.
